Hands on Clay: Youth HandbuildingHobbiesYouth will learn handbuilding techniques while creating imaginative functional and sculptural clay projects, finished with colorful, personalized glazes. Session 1: In this fun and creative youth ceramics handbuilding class, students will learn how to build with clay using slab construction techniques while creating their own unique ceramic treasures! Young artists will design and build a decorative cake box with a lid, perfect for storing keepsakes or treats, along with a whimsical mushroom house or spooky haunted house sculpture. Students will explore texture, shaping, and assembly while developing foundational ceramic skills in a supportive studio environment. Students will paint and personalize their creations with colorful glazes to make each project truly one-of-a-kind. Session 2: In this imaginative youth handbuilding ceramics class, students will create two exciting clay projects: a handmade mug and a dragon’s eye sculpture. Young artists will learn basic handbuilding techniques such as shaping, attaching, and adding texture while designing a functional mug full of personality. Intro to Flamenco DanceHobbiesJoin Molly Kay in an energetic movement class that will introduce students to flamenco dance basics. Flamenco dance is a solo dance form from Spain that involves the full body from head to toe. Classes will include an introduction to flamenco rhythms, warm-ups, upper body work, and percussive footwork. Students will learn a short combination by the end of the session. Junior Cougar Boys Basketball CampSport CampsThe emphasis of the clinic will be placed on ball handling, dribbling, pivoting, passing, and one-on-one moves, perimeter shots, and free throws. The entire objective of the program is to introduce the boys to the correct fundamentals used in the game of basketball. The clinic offers little opportunity in playing real games. In the time allotted for the program, our coaching staff feels it is more important to spend the time teaching proper individual techniques. Members of the Cougar coaching staff will be present at the sessions with the varsity and junior varsity players demonstrating and teaching. We look forward to helping your son get a healthy introduction or progressing further in his current understanding of basketball and love of the game.Fall 2026

Kids K - 1K Race for 3rd - 5th GradersSportsJoin us prior to the Mankato East High School Cross Country Invitational at Benson Park for a fun 1K race along the course! Students will have the chance to enjoy a run on a portion of the same path that high school athletes will compete on. Students in 3rd -5th grade can enjoy an introductory experience of a cross country race. The race begins at 5:15 PM, with check-in starting at 5:00 PM so students can pick up their bibs and get briefed on the course. All participants will receive a goodie bag at the finish line and get to keep their race bib as a keepsake. This is a free event, and parents or another adult must provide transportation to and from the race. Families are encouraged to stay, cheer on their runner, and stick around afterward to support the Mankato Cross Country teams during this invitational! What to bring: water bottle, tennis shoes, and weather-appropriate athletic wear.Fall 2026

Learn to Lancer: Color Guard Flags, Rifles, + Poms PerformanceClassesLearn to Lancer is a program for youth in grades 2-10, who would like to learn the artistry of dance, movement, and twirling with Color Guard Flags, Rifles, and Poms. Participation in this course is introductory and will give youth the opportunity to learn skills that will lead to future success in the 77 Lancers Color Guard as well as our OWN performance opportunities at local events such as high school sports and regional competitions. Dates and times of local and regional events will be announced at a later date. Bus transportation to regional events is included in the registration fee. Learn To Lancer fee is for program participation and use of program equipment. Lifeguard Training - Blended LearningAquaticsBecome a certified lifeguard through the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course, offered in a blended learning format. This course combines online learning with in-person skills sessions to provide a flexible and comprehensive training experience. Participants will complete online coursework at their own pace before attending scheduled in-person sessions to practice water rescue techniques, CPR, AED use, and first aid. Prerequisites: Participants must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the course and pass a swimming skills evaluation, which includes a swim-tread-swim sequence and a timed retrieval of a 10-pound object from a depth of 7-10 feet. Certification Requirements: To earn certification, participants must complete all online coursework, attend all in-person sessions, demonstrate competency in required skills, and pass the final written and practical exams. Note: Please bring a swimsuit and towel to in-person sessions. Detailed instructions for accessing the online portion will be provided 1 week prior to the first in-person session.Fall 2026
